Looking dazed and haggard, this is Ronnie Wood after two weeks on the wagon. The Rolling Stone was on his daily stroll outside his rehab centre in Surrey.

He checked in after returning from an alcohol-fuelled jaunt in Ireland with teenage Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova. Wood, 61, was apparently downing two bottles of vodka a day.

Yesterday, accompanied by a male carer and seven other patients, he stared straight ahead as he walked through the streets.

An onlooker said: 'He does look thinner than before and much more frail. He had a down look on his face most of the time.

'He tried to talk to the other patients but seemed lost in his own thoughts most of the time.'

Part of his recovery programme involves counselling with family members – however Jo, his wife of 23 years, flew to Barcelona at the height of the scandal and was reportedly too upset to speak to him.
