Britney and K-Fed reach deal

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached an agreement that grants the pop singer more visits with her children and averts a custody trial that was scheduled for next month, attorneys said Friday.

The agreement was announced following a closed-door session between lawyers for both sides and a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner. Neither Spears or Federline appeared in court, and the attorneys declined to discuss specifics about the agreement.

A court spokesman says no formal settlement has been filed, but Federline’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, said the agreement averts a trial on custody issues that had been scheduled for late August.
